Positioning IT to Contribute to Business Growth
When this international equipment management company experienced a period of sustained growth, Churchill helped to develop a strategy to streamline and simplify its business systems.
After a period of sustained growth, issues with existing business systems and information management had exposed this organisation to significant risks, impacting its ability to achieve long-term sustainable growth. To plan for continued growth, this client required a revised approach in implementing and managing its business systems that would deliver long-term value.
After engagement with the leadership team and following a detailed review, Churchill was able to develop a well-defined business systems strategy. This outlined a future state systems landscape, based on strategic objectives, emerging trends and best practice principles.
The consulting team outlined a transition plan, incorporating a multi-year roadmap of projects to deliver the future state, which will ensure systems are in place to meet the growing business needs of this client. To support this transition, a governance framework was defined that will help to manage and control the acquisition and investment in business systems during this period.
Our client needed a way to align a complex business system portfolio with their changing business strategy, vendor capabilities and other internal initiatives. The development of a coherent Business Systems Strategy achieved this through the delivery of the following:
- A clear and agreed future state systems landscape detailing a simplified and standardised business system architecture
- A roadmap of the major initiatives to be executed in transitioning to the future state
- A robust governance framework and the appropriate tools and templates that will help to manage and control the acquisition and investment in business systems into the future.
- A solid foundation from which to proceed to the next stages in key enterprise software initiatives.
