Churchill worked with the client’s business divisions and key executive stakeholders to review cybersecurity maturity, IT operating model and IT maturity to provide a pragmatic and practical IT roadmap and a high-level business case.

The client

Our client is a vertically-integrated real-estate conglomerate with a diversified group of companies. The company is family-owned and is among Australia’s largest privately-owned companies by turnover.

Our approach

We delivered a tailored approach, including:

  • Reviewed the client’s business strategy and strategic directions to understand the group operating model and growth aspirations
  • Analysed the business divisions synergy and technology challenges through process storyboard mapping for end-to-end transactions of the quote to cash process for building material supplies
  • Conducted a deep-dive on the current-state technology architecture to assess technology maturity, ERP suitability for business needs and services delivery
  • Leveraged the industry-standard Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (C2M2) framework to identify the cybersecurity maturity from technology, process controls and people viewpoint
  • Mapped the maturity of the current-state technology delivery operating model and identified key skills and capability gaps to deliver the transformation roadmap
  • Worked with business division leaders and executive stakeholders to establish future-state guiding principles and capability uplift roadmap
  • Built an integrated roadmap for technology transformation for the client covering ERP enhancements, analytics, IT/OT standardisation and cybersecurity maturity upliftment
  • Provided detailed recommendations for the technology roadmap along with high-level implementation estimates
  • Established a clear view of a three-year roadmap with transition architectures to transformation delivery resource model for the implementation
  • Identified business benefits and value drivers to help the client establish the business case for the transformation


  • The engagement provided the client with an integrated roadmap to uplift technology capability to drive synergy across the group’s companies
  • The integrated roadmap will provide the annualised benefit of circa $3.5M to the client with significant improvement in customer experience, operational efficiency and employee productivity
  • The implementation of the technology roadmap is underway with a focus on enabling the business units with agile and contemporary digital technologies to improve client delivery and uplift gross margins
